According to a recent report by TOI, Gomti Riverfront in Lucknow will soon undergo a major transformation that will make it a hub of tourist and cultural activity. The civic authorities plan to keep the river clean, maintain the water level and ensure that the riverfront is always clean, lush and well groomed. The civic bodies also plan to introduce water sports such as water scooter, water jets and sailing boats at the riverfront.
The idea is to turn the 4 kms stretch of Gomti Riverfront from Hanuman Setu to La Martiniere College, into a bustling centre of activity, not just for the residents but for anyone who chooses to visit the city. Cultural events and shows will also take place here during evenings making it one of the coolest and most sought after hangout spots in the city.
