The greatest literary show of the country and, perhaps, one of the finest lit(erary) events in the world, the Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF) is back in all its glory with its 16th edition. The dates and line-up is out, people, so you better lock your calendars before it is late!
Brightening up the pink city even more, JLF serves every year as an inclusive platform that ensures absolute freedom of speech. It holds a high status as a confluence of the greatest literary minds of the contemporary era and continues to serve as the same.
Celebrating freedom of expression
A convergence of a global literary phenomenon, the JLF festival is a five-day gala for book lovers around the world. The iconic event, through the years, has transformed the way literature is sought and savored by readers and speakers of all languages. The fest has provided a platform to some 5,000 speakers and more than 200 million people already.
With the same values in hand, JLF 2023 is sure to ensure peace of the mind and soul with its splendid line-up of speakers, art exhibition, musical performances, delightful local food, merchandise, and more.
Galaxy of great writers
An immersive experience for all literature enthusiasts, JLF 2023’s sessions will supposedly be spread across five venues with some 250 speakers.
Writer, historian and Co-director of the Jaipur Literature Festival William Dalrymple shared, “This year we are proud to present a galaxy of some of the greatest writers on the planet: a fabulous array of Nobel, Booker, Pulitzer, Sahitya Academy, Women’s Prize and Baillie Gifford award winners, laureates and medalists.”
First list of speakers
The first list of about 25 speakers has been released and it will most definitely compel you to be here in January!
Some of the speakers and featured authors include 2021 Nobel Laureate Abdulrazak Gurnah, Sahitya Akademi awardee Anamika, Booker Prize winner Howard Jacobson, International Booker Prize Winner translator Daisy Rockwell, and more such seminal men and women.
