After a wait of over three decades, Mumbai is finally getting a brand-new railway terminus. The Jogeshwari Terminus, currently under construction near Ram Mandir suburban station, is expected to be operational by October–November 2025. This will be the city’s first full-fledged Greenfield terminus since the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) opened in 1991.

Set to be a major boost for Mumbai’s rail network, the upcoming Jogeshwari Terminus is being developed at a cost of ₹76.84 crore. Strategically located near Ram Mandir suburban station, the terminus offers excellent connectivity, just 500 metres from metro station and with direct access to the Western Express Highway.
The facility will house three 600-metre-long platforms capable of accommodating 24-coach trains, with 12 mail and express services expected to operate daily.
Designed with passenger comfort in mind, the terminus will include VIP and air-conditioned lounges with showers, charging points, and pantries. Additional features include dormitories, retiring rooms, a food plaza, and a dedicated rest area for porters. Commuter convenience is further enhanced with EV charging points, escalators, lifts, and designated zones for taxis, autos, and app-based cabs.
With 85% of the platform walls completed and strong progress on station buildings, the project is well on track for its late 2025 launch, offering a much-needed decongestion solution for overloaded hubs like Dadar, Bandra, and Mumbai Central.
