Western Railway has announced major disruptions to its suburban and long-distance train services, with a 9.5-hour mega block scheduled between Bandra and Mahim, starting at 11 PM on January 24. The block is necessary for replacing the historic British-era bridge over the Mithi River.
During this period, local trains will not stop at six key stations—Mahalaxmi, Lower Parel, Prabhadevi, Matunga Road, Mahim, and Khar Road—so plan your journey accordingly.

During this period, 127 train services will be cancelled between January 24-25, and 150 services between January 25-26. All slow train services departing from Churchgate, Virar, Bhayandar, and Borivali will run on the fast line between Mumbai Central and Santacruz, bypassing the affected stations. The last slow train from Churchgate to Borivali will leave at 1 AM.
On Saturday morning, trains from Virar, Bhayandar, and Borivali will terminate at Andheri. Services will gradually normalise, with the first fast train to Churchgate departing Virar at 5:47 AM, and the first slow train leaving Churchgate at 8:03 AM.
Similar disruptions will extend into Sunday morning. Passengers on long-distance routes may face delays of up to 20-60 minutes due to an additional block between Vangaon and Dahanu.
