As we move closer to the festive season, restaurants in Mumbai are celebrating in full gusto, launching new menus and fresh spaces to cater to discerning palates. One such new restaurant in Bandra, inspired by Peruvian cuisine with Japanese, Spanish and Italian influences, is Los Cavos.
Serving Latin American fare, this resto is where you should head to, if you’re looking for a swanky cocktail bar experience or simply want to relish a hearty brunch. Read on to learn more about this new Peruvian retreat.
Land of the Incas!
Coming to the food bit, the umami-packed menu can be broadly divided into three categories – Cold and Hot Appetisers, Main Course and Desserts. Our recommendations you ask?
Starting off with appetisers, for vegetarians, Los Cavos’ Mushroom Ceviche (₹450) with assorted mushrooms, avocado cream, dill and coconut is a must-try. Whereas non-vegetarians can always opt for Bachiche Ceviche (₹725) made with the goodness of cilantro oil, creamy leche de tigre, capers, garlic chips, piquillos and lime.
Moving to the main course, diners shouldn’t skip on the classic Peruvian Seafood Rice (₹850), baked with clams, prawns, scallops, bell peppers, green peas, bisque sauce, aioli and sarza criolla. The Portobello Steak (₹1190) has also quickly become a popular choice too! Was it all down with the signature cocktails here, that will transport you to the shores of South America.
Now if you have some space left, which we know you do of course, don’t miss out on Los Cavos’ creamy Cheesecake (₹400), with a crispy nut base and topped with assorted berries and raspberries. Tempting, right?! And BTW, all of these dishes are signature Los Cavos creations, from the kitchen of Peruvian Chef, Rafael Estremadoyro García.

The restaurant‘s name translates to ‘the cave’ and the interiors are donned with custom murals, distressed accents and warm tones, for a sensorial dinning experience. It is a joint partnership between VRO Hospitality Pvt Ltd and fashion and celebrity photographer, Rahul Jhangiani – so you might spot some Bollywood faces here too!
