Knocksense Shorts | IIT Bombay gets Chandrayaan-3 honour for its contribution to the mission

IIT Bombay has been working closely with ISRO since 1984.

For its exceptional contribution towards ISRO's successful moon mission, IIT Bombay received the 'Chandrayaan-3 Honour' on Saturday. The honour, which was received by Dr. Prasanna Gandhi of IIT Bombay, especially recognized the 2DOF Pilot slosh rig developed at the institute.

The scaled-up model of the rig was extensively used in the design of Chandraayan-3's Vikram lander. It is noteworthy that the said honour is also in recognition of the work IIT Bombay has been doing in collab with ISRO through its Space Technology Cell (STC) since 1984.

From over 100 research projects at IIT Bombay that have aided several ISRO missions to the training received by ISRO scientists via IIT Bombay's MTech and Ph.D programmes, the honour is a nod to the long-standing cooperation between the two organizations.
