Mumbai’s much-awaited 7.5-km coastal promenade, stretching from Priyadarshini Park to Worli Sea Link, is nearing completion and likely to open by June 15, BMC officials confirmed. Once finished, the 20-meter-wide seafront pathway will operate 24×7, unlike the current restricted 7 AM to midnight access due to ongoing work.
Yoga zones, open-air gyms, and more
The 7.5-km-long, 20-meter-wide promenade, stretching from Priyadarshini Park to the Worli-end of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, promises to be a new favourite for walkers, joggers, and cyclists. It will feature dedicated cycling lanes and underpasses for smooth access.
Built over 11 hectares, the promenade is part of the ₹13,983.83 crore Mumbai Coastal Road Project (MCRP). While Tata Sons is beautifying the 5-hectare median, Reliance Industries has been selected to develop and maintain 70 hectares of open space as part of its CSR efforts, pending final approval.
The revamped public space will feature an exciting mix of amenities like yoga zones, open-air gyms, butterfly gardens, amphitheatres, Miyawaki forests, musical fountains, and dedicated areas for seniors and children. Backed by a ₹400 crore CSR initiative, BMC aims to transform the stretch into a vibrant, green, and inclusive recreational hub for all.
