Waves of euphoria continue to wash over the nation as the triumphant Indian cricket team, led by Captain Rohit Sharma, prepares for a homecoming. Having secured a thrilling victory against South Africa in the T20 World Cup final on June 29h the team will have a grand open-top bus parade in Mumbai on July 4 by BCCI.

Stretching from the prestigious National Centre for Performing Arts to the iconic Wankhede Stadium, this route is set to dazzle with enthusiastic fans lining the streets to honour this historic achievement.

Barbados delay over, Mumbai awaits T20 Champions Parade

The team experienced an unexpected delay in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl, which shut down the airport for two days. After a tense wait, an Air India special charter flight AIC24WC, dubbed “Air India Champions 24 World Cup”, arrived from New Jersey to rescue the stranded team. The flight departed from Barbados at 4:50 AM local time and is expected to land in New Delhi on Thursday at 6:20 AM IST.

The 1 km long open-top bus parade will start at 4 PM from the National Centre for Performing Arts in Nariman Point and end at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, following the same route as MS Dhoni’s 2007 T20 World Cup-winning team.

The festivities at Wankhede Stadium will include a presentation ceremony where Captain Rohit Sharma will hand over the World Cup trophy to BCCI Secretary Jay Shah. The trophy will reside at the BCCI headquarters for the next two years. Additionally, the players will receive their share of ₹125 crore prize money.

India’s T20 World Cup win ends 11-Year ICC title drought!

India’s dramatic win over South Africa in the T20 World Cup final was a historic moment! It ended their 11-year drought of ICC titles and made them just the third team ever, alongside the West Indies and England, to win the tournament twice. This momentous victory has reignited cricket fever across the nation, and Mumbai is ready to honour its heroes with an unforgettable celebration.
