New infections drop below 100 in Goa for the 1st time in 118 days!

With the retreating second wave of the pandemic, COVID graphs have taken a continuous downward trajectory in Goa. On Monday, less than 100 new cases were registered in the state for the first time in 118 days. No new fatality was recorded either and the active tallies too have contracted to a count of 1,436 patients now. Notably, the test positivity rate for the previous week stands at 3.3% and the recovery rate has also marked a small hike climbing up to 97.3%.

Goa reports zero COVID death for the first time in 4 months on Monday!

In a COVID respite, the state of Goa managed to nullify its virus toll for the first time in 4 months. On Monday, no coronavirus deaths were reported here, the health department announced. The Chief Minister on Tuesday, congratulated the medical fraternity and concerned officials for achieving the zero-casualty feat, after relentless efforts. Goa hosts special vaccination drive for residents without valid IDs from today

On Friday, an official gave a statement as per which the Goa government shall launch a special vaccination drive for individuals who do not have government-issued photo IDs. This inoculation drive shall commence from today and cater to Indian citizens without valid documents and Nepali citizens residing in the state. A welcome move, this decision has been taken in the larger interest so that chances of COVID-19 contamination are reduced.
