Colleges in Indore expected to remain shut till May 15 amid the surging spike of COVID crisis!

In light of the intensifying scare and swell of the coronavirus infection in Indore, all colleges in the district are expected to remain shut till May 15. While an official order is yet to be obtained for the same, the Minister of Higher Education on Thursday strongly suggested a 7-day extension of the present shutdown. A further extension will be issued if there is a need, he added. As of now, colleges in Indore have been directed to remain closed until May 7.

Indore's Sevakunj Hospital to now operate as a COVID facility for asymptomatic patients!

In wake of the alarming rise in the number of coronavirus cases in Indore, District Collector Manish Singh on Tuesday, declared that the city's Sevakunj Hospital has now been converted into a COVID care centre. Located in the Kanadia area of Indore, this facility will primarily cater to the asymptomatic active caseload in the city and will be refurbished accordingly, to meet the patients' needs. Reportedly, a new oxygen plant and a power backup will also be set up here, to equip it better in the pandemic hour.

Corona curfew in Indore's urban areas extended till April 30 amid high COVID surge

In wake of the threatening rise of the coronavirus infection in Indore, the District Collector has further extended the corona curfew till April 30 here. As per the issued order, the urban areas in Indore will continue to observe a partial lockdown to curb the rampant spread of infection here. The district recorded yet another high with 1,753 new infections on Tuesday, marking the highest surge across MP. The active caseload now stands at 12,324 patients as 1,225 recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours. About 8 people succumbed to the infection during the same period, raising the toll to 1,062 deaths, as of April 20.

Indore distributes over 12,000 Remdesivir injections across MP to ensure rapid COVID treatment

A large consignment of Remdesivir injections arrived at the Indore Airport on Sunday, carrying about 125 boxes of the COVID treatment drug. This lot collectively made about 12,000 injections available for immediate use. As per the directives of the Chief Minister, the state is undertaking several efforts to ensure that there is an optimum supply of medicines and necessary resources for the treatment of coronavirus infected patients in affected districts. Consequently, the medicine boxes were airlifted from the Indore Airport itself, to ensure immediate availability across other cities.

District Administration imposes a 5-day curfew in some areas of Indore to contain COVID-19 spread

In wake of the rise in the coronavirus infection in Indore, the district authorities, on Sunday announced a 5-day urban curfew here. Under the authority of Section 144 of the Cr.PC, the collector has ordained a complete curfew within the municipal limits of Indore district, Mhow cantonment area and Rangwasa, from April 12 to April 16. Reportedly, the 60-hour lockdown has also been extended till April 19 in Indore.
