IIT Kanpur introduces two new centres of learning & research

Kanpur's premier technology institute has leased its expertise to formally launch two major centres of learning and research. The two units, namely the Shivani Centre for the Nurture and Re-Integration of Hindi and Other Indian Languages' at IIT Kanpur and 'Chandrakanta Kesavan Centre for Energy Policy and Climate Solutions' have been generously aided by the IIT for the benefit of its alumni, read reports. With this, the institute aims to bring a diverse range of subjects under its excellence that'll carve out an inclusive space to conduct specialised research programmes.

New butterfly park with over 27 species at the Kanpur Zoo opens gates for visitors!

In a recent upgrade, a new Butterfly Park has been set up at the Allen Forest Zoo in Kanpur. As per reports, this one-of-a-kind garden was inaugurated by the Environmental Minister on October 2 to commemorate Wildlife Week in the state. Built on the lines of the Bannerghatta Biological Park in Karnataka, the Titli Park is worth ₹2.57 crores and houses about 27 different and special species of butterflies.

IIT Kanpur to track & assess the causes of rising air pollution in Delhi

Stepping forward to a greener and cleaner environment, Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has signed an MoU with the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. With the materialisation of this agreement, the top-notch technical institution will work to uncover the causes of air pollution in Delhi. Reportedly, IIT-K will conduct weekly, monthly and seasonal checks to investigate the reasons of impure air. Consequently, it would give suggestions for better management and mitigation.
