Post-COVID treatment to be made free of cost in Lucknow & other UP districts

The state of Uttar Pradesh has decided to stretch the domain of free post-COVID treatment across all district health centres, hospitals and medical colleges. Reportedly, this provision was previously available only at designated state-run post COVID centres in UP. This decision has ushered in a significant economic respite for the people, who have been trialled by the grave infection and its hefty bills.

The facility will be provided in all medical colleges, state-aided, autonomous and private institutions including Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, King George's Medical University and Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences.

502 fresh cases reported in Lucknow on Tuesday!

The coronavirus infection graph has started to chart a downward trajectory in Lucknow, harnessing respite in UP's worst-hit region. Marking the 10th consecutive day of virus plunge in the city, around 502 fresh cases were reported on Tuesday. Besides this low rate of spread and transmission, an increased recovery rate is also propelling the pandemic relief in Lucknow. Since the beginning of May, the number of recoveries have outpaced the number of new infections, effectively arresting an active case spike here.

Lucknow & Kanpur get COVID care centres for cops

Giving a strong and focused push to the state's coronavirus treatment infrastructure, the Uttar Pradesh administration has established new COVID centres at Reserve Police Lines across 66 districts including Lucknow, especially for the benefit of its police personnel. These provisional units will provide proper and urgent isolation and quarantine facilities to police officers. Besides this, immediate medical assistance will also be catered to asymptomatic and mild symptomatic officers here.

Community Health Centres in Lucknow & other UP districts to be upgraded with advanced amenities

In a bid to strengthen the COVID treatment infrastructure across Uttar Pradesh, Commissioners and District Magistrates have been directed to identify and upgrade at least two Community Health Centres in each division, as Level 1 COVID facilities. As per reports, these centres will be equipped with 50 oxygen beds each, to shoulder the increasing pressure on L-2 and L-3 critical care centres. The changes will be executed on a priority, with the primary focus to improve the rural health structure amid the widespread coronavirus infection.
