Online examinations to take lead in Uttar Pradesh with digital solutions by Wheebox

Amid the growing need for virtual avenues during the pandemic, the government of Uttar Pradesh has partnered with Wheebox, a global online assessment solutions leader, to digitise the examination process in the state. Under this scheme, pupils from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), and the Board of Technical Education Uttar Pradesh (BTE) sat for these online tests. Given the uncertain nature of the current times, this move is expected to aid students with timely assessments.

Goa education department recommends offline examinations for classes 10 & 12

The Goa directorate of education has suggested that examinations for classes 10th and 12th should be held in an offline mode, with COVID-19 protocols in place. The directorate has pointed out that offline examinations can be easily conducted if students, teachers and staff wear masks, undergo thermal screening and use sanitisers. While a staggered seating arrangement has also been recommended to strengthen the defence, the state government is yet to take a final decision regarding the same, added reports.

Lucknow University plans to promote first semester UG & PG students without final assessments

Lucknow University has decided that it will seek permission from the government to promote its first semester UG and PG students without final assessments, as their exams were postponed in view of the rise in COVID cases. Further, the University has decided that it will commence the second-semester classes for all undergraduate and master as online programmes. This decision was taken in a meeting of all department heads, presidents and university deans, under the council of the LU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alok Kumar Roy.

Mumbai University announces dates for online exams for final year-last semester UG students

Releasing a circular on Wednesday, Mumbai University announced dates for online exams for the terminating undergraduate Batch of 2021 in wake of the COVID spike in Mumbai. The order states that regular and backlog theory exams for all final year- last semester UG programmes will be conducted from May 6 to May 21. The varsity expects all affiliated colleges to complete the first and second-year examinations before that, i.e. from April 15 to May 5.

Mumbai University's end-sem theory examinations to be conducted online; new guidelines issued

Professional courses in colleges affiliated to Mumbai University, will have a mix of multiple-choice and descriptive questions while arts, commerce and science streams will follow the MCQ pattern, for the end-semester theory examinations. The university has set a deadline of December 31 to complete the examinations for all the traditional and management courses and December 15 for professional courses such as pharmacy, law and engineering.
