​Private universities in UP can now set up off-campus centres in accordance with NEP 2020

The Uttar Pradesh government has amended the Private Universities Act, 2017, to allow private universities in the state to open off-campus centres here. This revision has come in consonance with the New Education Policy 2020, which permits all private varsities to set up centres outside their main campus. Reportedly, these new centres will be operated and maintained as the constituents of the universities, however, will not be affiliated with the main campus.

UP Anganwadi Centres to get new preschool kits to boost primary education

In a bid to strengthen the pillars of education in rural Uttar Pradesh, the state administration has decided to develop around 1,70,896 Anganwadi centres as nodal points for the Early Childhood Children Education scheme. These schools will be equipped with booklets and preschool kits to streamline resources for young students.

The step will culture a feasible environment for school education among the rural population through a structured approach. Reportedly, the centres will also provide assessment cards for children to further this.

'Realisation Curriculum' for students in UP schools to facilitate extensive growth & development

Boosting extensive growth and development of young kids in the state, the Uttar Pradesh government is deliberating upon the introduction of a 'happiness curriculum'. Proposed to be functional as a pilot project from the next academic session, this scheme is expected to support all-round progress for young students. As per the current plans, this new program shall be called a 'realisation curriculum'.

Primary School teachers to now be included in 'Corporate Appraisal' structure in Uttar Pradesh

The Basic Education Department of Uttar Pradesh has announced the introduction of a 'corporate appraisal' system for teachers and principals of all primary schools in the state. If the teachers are seeking a promotion or a raise in salary, they will have to 'earn points' for that now. Attempting to reduce corruption in the system, the latest intervention would renovate the education sector of Uttar Pradesh.
