RT-PCR negative report mandatory for those traveling to UP

With COVID cases on a rise again in several Indian states, travel norms in UP have been changed yet again. Passengers traveling to Uttar Pradesh from states having a high COVID caseload will now be allowed entry only after they produce a negative RT-PCR report. The negative certificate should not be older than 4 days. All travelers, irrespective of their mode of commute, be it road, rail, air or private vehicle, will have to comply with this norm. Only those who are fully vaccinated against the virus with both the doses, will be exempted.

Wetlands in UP to be converted into tourist, academic & recreation hubs

In a bid to scale its popularity among tourists, authorities in Uttar Pradesh are considering developing some of its main wetlands as hubs for academic and tourist activities. These include eight wetlands, designated as wetlands of worldwide significance (Ramsar sites). Out of the 42 Ramsar sites in India, UP is home to the maximum number of sites.

UP aims to vaccinate about 10 lakh people daily across Lucknow, Kanpur & other dists till July

In an ambitious mission of the COVID vaccination drive, the Uttar Pradesh Health Department has targeted to administer the COVID jab to about 10 lakh people every day, across the state till the month of July. The state has received sufficient stocks from the Centre to undertake and achieve the target, read reports. Propelled under the scope of the state's mega vaccination campaign, Mission June, this drive will ease the availability of the COVID shot for all.

'Tika Utsav' across 8,000 centres in Uttar Pradesh to assure COVID-19 vaccination for all

After the Prime Minister asked all states to amp up their COVID inoculation drives through a 'Tika Utsav', the state government in Uttar Pradesh quickly made announcements regarding it. Scheduled from April 11 to 14, 'Tika Utsav' shall be witnessed across 8,000 immunisation sites in the state. In addition to this, the inoculation drives for the offices shall start soon, as informed by the Additional Chief Secretary, Amit Mohan Prasad.

Section 144 imposed in Lucknow & other districts of UP, in a bid to arrest the 2nd COVID-19 wave

In view of the soaring COVID numbers, the Uttar Pradesh government has imposed restrictions under section 144 in all 75 districts of the state, including the capital city Lucknow. This decision has been taken to prevent an unchecked spread of COVID-19 given that the panchayat elections are scheduled in the near future. Amidst a list of regulations issued through the order, gatherings of more than 5 individuals have been disallowed.
