Recently, it was announced that Indore airport is all set to become the first international airport in the state.

Indore has begun to come up as a highly advanced and budding place for new businesses. Now, since the city will be home to the only international airport in M.P, the increase for setting shop there has increased.
The move comes after many inspections of the airport. Each and every aspect from safety and security, passenger comfort to staff and flight capacity was thoroughly checked. After that, the airport was compared to several other airport of the state and Indore airport emerged as the clear winner.

Following this development, the Indore airport will go through some major changes to accomodate the needs and infrastructure required to actually become a full fledged international airport. For this, they need to set up immigration centres and customs offices. Additionally, they also need to set up separate entry and exit points, luggage carousels and hangars for aircrafts.
As for international flights, the first cross border flight is expected to take off in April. The flight will be an Air India flight and will take passengers to Sharjah in the UAE. As of now, only a select number of staff will be required for the flight, but as more flights begin, the staff will have to be increased.
The news is one of the best news we have heard of from the city so far and it goes to show the constant development of Indore.
