With Ahmedabad set to host 7 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 matches at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) has announced extended metro services to accommodate cricket fans. On match days, metro trains will operate till 12:30 AM, ensuring convenient late-night travel for spectators.

Currently, Ahmedabad’s metro services run from 6:20 AM to 10:00 PM. However, on IPL match days, the services between Motera Stadium and APMC, as well as Vastral Gam to Thaltej Gam, will continue for two extra hours. Meanwhile, metro services to Gandhinagar will continue to follow their regular schedule, concluding at 10:00 PM.
To facilitate late-night travel, GMRC has introduced special paper tickets priced at ₹50 per person. These tickets will be valid for travel between any operational Ahmedabad metro station from Motera Stadium or Sabarmati station after 10:00 PM. Regular fare options will apply until 10:00 PM, after which only the special paper tickets will be accepted at Motera Stadium and Sabarmati metro stations.
Passengers can purchase these tickets in advance to avoid last-minute rush at select metro stations, including Sabarmati, Motera, Ranip, Apparel Park, Kalupur, Nirant Cross Road, Old High Court, Vadaj, Jivraj, and Thaltej.
To accommodate the surge of passengers post-match, metro train frequency will be adjusted. Before 10:00 PM, metro trains will run every eight minutes, while after 10:00 PM, they will operate every six minutes from Motera and Sabarmati stations, with the last train departing at 12:30 AM.

In addition to metro services, Ahmedabad traffic police have issued a public advisory detailing restrictions, diversions, and alternative routes around the stadium to manage congestion effectively. With these arrangements, cricket enthusiasts can enjoy IPL matches without worrying about late-night transport hassles, making Ahmedabad’s metro a reliable travel option during the tournament.
