With 7 IPL 2025 matches set to take place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, the Ahmedabad City Police have issued traffic restrictions and diversions to ensure smooth movement and public safety. City Police Commissioner G.S. Malik (IPS) has enforced these measures under Section 33(1)(B)(C) of the Gujarat Police Act, 1951.
A significant crowd, including VVIPs, players, and around 45 celebrities, is expected to attend, leading to potential congestion. To manage the heavy footfall and prevent road accidents, certain traffic regulations will be in place on match days.

Know about the restricted routes
Traffic will be prohibited between Janpath T Junction and the stadium’s main gate as well as Krupa Residency to Motera Gam T Junction.
Alternative Routes:

Vehicles can follow the route from Tapovan Circle to ONGC Crossroads, proceeding towards Visat T Junction, Janpath T Junction, Powerhouse Crossroads, and Prabodh Rawal Circle.

Another suggested path runs from Krupa Residency to Sharan Status Crossroads, then to Koteshwar Road and Apollo Circle.
Vehicles allowed in restricted areas
Only specific vehicles will be allowed in the restricted areas:

Government vehicles on duty

Emergency services (fire brigades, ambulances)

Vehicles associated with the cricket matches

Residents of the restricted zone
Violators of these restrictions will face legal action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023 and Section 131 of the Gujarat Police Act. All police officers, from Joint/Addl. Commissioners to Constables, have been authorised to enforce these regulations.
