In view of the upcoming IPL match on 31st March between Gujarat Titans and four time champions – Chennai Super Kings, Ahmedabad Metro services will be extended till 02:00 am to help cricket enthusiasts reach home after the match.
Starting at 07:30 pm, the first match of the 16th season at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad promises to be nothing short of a cracker. Prior to the match will be a grand opening ceremony, for which you can expect prominent faces like Arjit Singh and Rishika Mandaka among others.
Road diversions and shuttle services
Apart from the extended duration of metro services, the road from Janpath T junction, to Motera Stadium T junction will be closed, and an alternate route from Janpath to Tapovan via Visat circle will be available for general vehicular movement. An additional 29 BRTS buses will be deployed for IPL viewers.
Further, 75 special shuttles will be deployed from the parking areas to the gates of the Narendra Modi Stadium at Motera. The parking zones provided near the Tapovan and Visat circle are a bit far, hence the need for the shuttle service. Each shuttle has the capacity to take about eight people at one go. Reportedly, the free of cost shuttle service is being facilitated by the IPL team Gujarat Titans.
Make sure to leave extra items at home
Additionally, for safety , nearly 1,600 police personnels, 5 DCP-level officers and 10 ACP (Assistant Commissioner of Police) level officers will be deployed. The entry at the stadium will commence at 3:30 pm on March 31.
Authorities have requested the fans to reach the venue before time for hassle-free entry. About 800 personnels from a private security agency (Check Mate) will be deployed at entrances for proper checking and frisking, allowing only phones and purses through the gates.
