Under the 'Green Clean Gujarat' campaign, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has disclosed the state's plan to enhance subsidies for CNG and electric buses in municipal corporations and 'A' class municipalities. This initiative aims to bolster the adoption of eco-friendly and sustainable transportation options in the state.

Currently, under the leadership of the CM, the Urban Bus Transport Scheme has enabled the deployment of 1068 CNG buses and 382 electric buses across three municipalities and ten 'A' class municipalities. To further support this initiative, the subsidy for operating CNG buses within municipal corporations will be increased from the existing Rs 12.50 to Rs 18 per kilometer.
