Women's Premier League to commence with Mumbai vs Ahmedabad face off on March 4

The opening match between both the teams will be organized at the DY Patil Stadium of Mumbai.

Ever since its announcement, the Women's Premier League has remained quite a rage among cricket enthusiasts. The inaugural edition of the much-anticipated cricket county league is set to kick off on March 4 and will continue for a duration of 21 days.

Reportedly, the WPL 2023 season could kickstart with a faceoff between Mumbai (Mumbai Indians) and Ahmedabad (Gujarat Giants) teams which will be played at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai, as per the tentative schedule.

Jhulan Goswami to mentor Mumbai Indians team

Notably, the Mumbai Indians franchise of the WPL season is owned by Mukesh Ambani while the Ahmedabad franchise i.e. Gujarat Giants is owned by Gautam Adani. With this, both teams will be mentored by cricket veterans Jhulan Goswami (MI) and Mithali Raj (GG) during the season.

Moreover, the tentative report further states that all the matches of the WPL 2023 season will be organized at the DY Patil Stadium and CCI-Brabourne Stadium of Mumbai.
