The Goa administration and transport directorate have set the ground for an end-to-end auto apporoval e-service license system, for the ease of public. The application process will now run on a digital medium, eliminating the need to visit the RTO. Applicants will have to watch a video about road safety provided on the website, followed by which, an online test will be conducted. The results of this test would be generated to the candidate instantly.

If they achieve the eligible passing 60% marks, a learner's license will be issued. A statement circulated by the transport department read that people do not need to visit the RTO for the document verification for it will be authenticated through the Aadhar Identity. This infers that applicants can easily download and print this form, from the comfort of their homes.

The statement further highlighted that the directorate has already shifted several good permits services to the online construct. This, and the new service re-engineering, has been implemented for the citizens to cater government services to people's doorstep. Additionally, it has simplified the existing procedure, providing quick and hassle-free solutions.

Validity extension for transport certificates

Meanwhile, the Goa transport department has extended the validity of several documents, such as the fitness certificates, permits, driving license, registration, or any other concerned documents that could not be renewed in light of the lockdown situation. As such, all documents which have expired post-February 1, 2020 will now be considered authentic until September 30. The enforcement authorities have also been directed to view them as valid documents.
