Over the past few years, Indore has come out as a transport hub for many large MNCs. In addition, passenger footfall has also increased, leading to congestion in train movement via Indore junction. With an aim to address the challenges faced at the overburdened Indore Junction, the board has revealed the plan to develop other city railway stations including, the Laxmi Bai Nagar railway station and Chandrawatiganj railway station.

This will also address the demand of people from Vijay Nagar and its adjoining areas. Besides this, platforms on the Bal Vinay Mandir side of the current Indore junction will also be given a facelift. Under this plan, a lift will be installed at the Bal Vinay Mandir side.
