Traffic concerns rise with Indore Metro, PWD Roadway overlapping at Palasia Square

The Metro project is slated to pass over the PWD corridor, with a planned height of 15m above ground.

Indore's bustling Palasia Square might face congestion issues in future as plans for the Indore Metro are intersecting with a proposed elevated roadway by the Public Works Department (PWD). Set to run from Robot Square to Treasure Island, the metro project will be submitted for approval by the coming week. Once it is given a go ahead, groundwork on the metro stretch will commence.

Meanwhile, the PWD corridor is slated to be constructed over the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS). Amid concerns over the PWD corridor overlapping with the metro, as per the Indore Metro's AMD, agreement has been reached to elevate the metro route by six metres, above the BRTS. Its height will be 15 meters above ground. The Metro, coming from Patrakar Colony Metro Station, will pass via this elevated corridor, to the Chappan Dukaan Metro Station.
