Free oxygen resources by Jaipur civic body to ensure safety of needy COVID patients!

Pushed by an unequalled surge in infections and a worrisome crunch of resources, medical establishments across the country are faced with a troubling shortage of oxygen supplies. In a move to fix this problem in the city, Jaipur Municipal Corporation Greater has started a project to provide cost-free oxygen cylinders and concentrators to the needy infected individuals. Through this life-saving initiative, the civic body attempts to safeguard COVID victims in Jaipur.

As per reports, the municipal body has executed plans for purchasing 100 oxygen cylinders and 10 concentrators for the benefit of the city residents. Reportedly, the mayor addressed a virtual meeting with all the municipal councillors of the region to enact measures for breaking the lengthening chain of infections. Further, the mayor has also committed her yearly honorarium for supporting the COVID patients in Jaipur. Taking a cue from this, other municipal members have also announced similar contributions.

COVID cases in Jaipur have taken an upward trajectory since the onslaught of the second COVID wave at the end of March. With 3,110 cases registered on Tuesday, the graph of new detections has remained above the 3K mark for the 8th day in a row. While 178 individuals succumbed to COVID complications in the city in the last four days, the curve of fatalities has shot up steeply indicating the dire state of affairs. As the count of active cases inches closer to the 2 lakh mark, the state capital has to level the biggest fighest against the pandemic.
