While numerous initiatives have been underway to beautify Uttar Pradesh cities ahead of crucial events lined up, like G20 Summit and Global Investors' Meet, the state government will now be running a special cleanliness campaign in Lucknow, Varanasi, Greater Noida and Agra. In order to spread awareness and keep the cities hosting G20 meetings clean, the campaign will be run in three phases and go on till March 31.

The first on-going peg has volunteers acquainting the city-ites about the importance of cleanliness and urging people to not litter. While in the second cohort, starting from February 16, people will be asked for their opinions on the aforementioned campaign. In the last phase, from March 4-31, anyone that throws garbage and litters will be fined.
