The system will be implemented in the university under the National Education Policy 2020.

The University of Lucknow has now set afloat the system of lateral entry, aligning with the National Education Policy 2020. With this provision, Lucknow University students will be able to take admissions directly in the second year of graduation.

The system will be implemented in the academic year 2024-2025 and will be carried out on the basis of Academic Bank of Credits (ABC). ABC, running on the lines of NAD or National Academic Depository, is a digital storehouse that garners information on credits received by students throughout their academic life. It proffers a wider scope of freedom in the career spectrum, providing students various options for entering and leaving educational institutes.
