If you missed visiting the Uttarakhand Mahotsav held earlier in November, there’s another opportunity to experience the region’s Pahadi culture in Lucknow. The city is currently hosting the 15-day Uttarayani Kauthig Mela 2026, celebrating Pahadi art and culture, food, lifestyle, and more. The mela kicked off on January 14 in the presence of the Uttarakhand Chief Minister and is being hosted at the Govind Ballabh Pant Parvatiye Sanskriti Upvan at the Gomti Riverfront.

As part of the setup, a cultural stage has been arranged where Pahadi folk performances will take place daily. The venue features Uttarakhand-themed decor along with a large LED screen. Around 150 stalls, named after major markets of Uttarakhand, have been set up, offering local cuisine, woollen products, handicrafts, and traditional sweets. The mela will run till January 28, giving Lucknowites an extended window to explore and enjoy the fair.
