It feels really good when you read praises about your city, right? Lucknow is one city that is constantly being appreciated for something or the other. But this time, there is nothing to feel glad about! As shocking as it might seem, the fact that Lucknow has been ranked among the top 10 most polluted city in the world, is now a reality.

Burning of garbage is a major source of PM1

As per the WHO global air pollution database, released by Geneva, Kanpur is the most polluted city in the world. Lucknow has been ranked 7th in this list, which has a total of 4 cities from UP in the top 10.

With an average PM2.5 level of 138, Lucknow has become one of the most polluted cities in the world, and this is nothing to be proud of! A lot of construction and development work has been going on in the city from last few years, including the Metro work, which can possibly be the reason for such high level of pollution.

Hopefully, some consideration will surely be given to pull down the level of pollution in the city soon. We are all breathing in highly polluted air, which needs to be checked right away.
