Lucknow Weather | Dense fog, bone-chilling winds take over city; further mercury dip expected

Visibility on highway routes remains dangerously low.

Lucknow continues to struggle with freezing temperatures and dense fog, with no signs of sunshine since Sunday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued 'Orange Warnings' for most parts of UP as thick fog disrupts visibility across the state. Resultingly, train and flight operations towards Lucknow have been significantly affected, causing widespread inconvenience.

Today’s forecast predicts a maximum temperature of 16°C; 2.7°C below normal, while the minimum will hover around a frigid 8°C. Adding to the woes, bone-chilling winds with speeds up to 8 km/h have intensified the cold wave conditions.

IMD anticipates a further drop in mercury over the next 48 hours, with scattered showers likely over the weekend. Meanwhile, the city’s AQI remains at 283, categorizing it as 'Poor,' adding to the challenges posed by high-pressure conditions.

Visibility on city outskirts and highway routes remains dangerously low, posing a significant risk to commuters. Residents are strongly advised to stay warm, limit travel and exercise caution during this severe weather spell.
