Southwest Monsoon made its first appearance in Uttar Pradesh on June 18, breaking usual patterns by entering through the southern districts, for the second consecutive year. Traditionally, monsoon enters the state from the east, through Ballia and Gorakhpur. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), conditions are favourable for the monsoon to advance further into more parts of the state over the next 2 to 3 days.

June 24: Jhansi, Bareilly
June 25: Mainpuri
June 27: Agra, Bijnor
Rainfall on Wednesday brought relief from heat and reduced the state's rainfall deficit from 46% to 27%. Ayodhya recorded 25.8 mm, Churk 5.6 mm, and Sultanpur 5.2 mm. IMD has forecast increased rainfall across the state from Thursday, with heavy to very heavy showers likely between June 19 and 22.
