The UP State Government is introducing new initiatives to promote ecotourism, by highlighting destinations such as wildlife reserves, national parks, and bird sanctuaries. So to enhance tourist convenience, the State Tourism Department has announced the launch of a direct flight service, connecting Lucknow to Dudhwa National Park. The service is set to begin on Monday, November 25.
Previously, the road journey from the state capital to Dudhwa National Park took approximately 4.5 hours. With the new flight service, this travel time will be drastically reduced to just one hour, providing a swift and efficient travel option for tourists.
Dudhwa National Park, located in the Terai region of Uttar Pradesh, is the state's largest wildlife park, boasting a rich variety of wildlife, flora, and fauna. The park is a major attraction for wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, bird watchers and domestic and international tourists, particularly during the winter season.
Most visitors reach the park via Lucknow, which houses the state's largest airport. To enhance convenience for tourists, the government has signed an MoU with JetServe Aviation Tourism Ltd. to introduce a charter flight service. Starting this Monday, the flight will operate from Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport in Lucknow, with tickets priced at ₹5,000 per person for a one-way journey.
The government aims to boost tourism in the region with this initiative, expecting the nearby Pilibhit Tiger Reserve and Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary to also benefit from the increased tourist traffic.
