Mumbai Police issues traffic restrictions around Mt. Mary Church, ahead of Bandra Fair 2023

The Mount Mary Fair will be celebrated in Bandra from Sep 10 to 17.

To efficiently handle vehicular traffic during festive season, Mumbai Police has issued traffic restrictions around Mount Mary Church - ahead of the Bandra Fair 2023. As per the notification, the traffic restrictions will come into force from September 10 and will remain in place till September 17. During the celebration, lakhs of devotees are expected to visit the Mount Mary Church in Bandra, affecting vehicular traffic.

Diversions in Mumbai during Bandra Fair

The traffic notification was issued by Pradnya Jedge, DCP (HQ and Central), Traffic, Mumbai. Know details below:

One Way/ No Entry Routes:

  1. Mount Mary Road will be closed for all vehicular traffic, except vehicles of local residents, who have been issued car passes by police and emergency vehicles, between 6:00 am to 11:00 pm.

  2. Kane Road shall be 'One Way' for all vehicular traffic from its junction at Mount Mary Road to its junction at B. J. Road, except vehicles of local residents issued with passes.

  3. Pereira Road will be one way from East to West, i.e., 'No Entry' from B.J. Road.

  4. St. John Baptista Road shall be closed for all vehicular traffic.

  5. At Carmel Church, Chappel Road, the right turn will be closed for all vehicular traffic.

Parking or halting of all types of vehicles except for immediate pick-up or drop-off, shall be banned on both sides of the following roads, between 06:00 AM to 11:00 PM, from September 10 to 17.

Further, for the ease of travellers, BMC will run additional rounds of BEST buses and set-up Special Temporary Stalls selling candles, flowers, food, toys, and artificial jewellery at nominal prices.
