Bandra’s largest slum, Nargis Dutt Nagar, is set for a major redevelopment, estimated to generate ₹10,000 crore in revenue. Located at Bandra Reclamation, the project is led by Roshni Developers in partnership with Godrej Properties under Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) scheme.

SRA compliance & tenant support

The redevelopment will feature 3-4 BHK sea-facing apartments. Roshni Developers will manage the rehabilitation of 1,515 slum families across 5.4 lakh sq ft, while Godrej Properties will develop a free-sale component spanning 10 lakh sq ft. Amenities will include welfare centres, libraries, healthcare facilities, libraries, community halls and improved traffic access through D P Road, which is currently encroached.

Concerns remain among families about displacement, though developers assure compliance with SRA norms. As of September 2024, 851 families were deemed eligible for rehabilitation, with efforts ongoing to resolve eligibility for others. Eligible tenants will also receive a ₹40,000 regulatory corpus from SRA, said reports.
