Big boost for Mumbai Metro: 4 new lines, one travel app!

These upgrades will bring a seamless transport network.

By the end of 2025, Mumbai will see a major shift in its public transport landscape with four new Metro corridors and the launch of the Mumbai One app. The Red Line (Dahisar-Mira Bhayander) and Yellow Line (DN Nagar-Mandale)will boost connectivity and ease congestion. Additionally, the Mumbai One app will seamlessly integrate 11 modes of transport, from suburban trains to buses, making commuting more efficient than ever.

Key updates on Red, Yellow, Aqua & Green Lines

The MMRDA's ambitious 12-line, 337-km Metro network will see these key additions:

  • Red Line (Dahisar-Mira Bhayander): First 4.5-km stretch (98% complete) opens Dec 2025

  • Yellow Line (DN Nagar-Mandale): 5.4-km BKC-Kurla section (78% ready) begins trials

  • Aqua Line (Colaba-SEEPZ): Underground extension (99.86% done) launches Aug 2025

  • Green Line (Wadala-Kasarvadavli): 10-station segment (84% complete) by early 2026

One QR code for all!

The Mumbai One app will integrate 11 transport modes, Metro, local trains, monorail and BEST buses, featuring:

  • Single QR code for all rides

  • Real-time updates & SOS alerts

  • Cashless payments

Supporting this expansion, India's largest Metro training centre at Mandale Depot will skill staff using advanced simulators. With these upgrades, Mumbai moves closer to its vision of a seamless, efficient transport network.
