Muskaan Tekwani

Students at Mumbai University will soon be able to opt for more greener and eco-friendly means of travel! The varsity management council finalised a slew of decisions during Thursday's review. During the meet, one of the major decision finalised was introducing cycles as the means of commute in the campus. The move is taken under the banner of unoiversity's green campus initiative.

Pedalling towards easy commute

The Mumbai University is one the most prominent varsities in the region, with the largest student body. Given its stature, the premises are imposed over a wide landscape of 243 acreas of land. This has always been a significant concern for students going from one point to another as there is no internal commute system.

In wake of the same, the MU management decided to launch the provision of cycle services, during an online council meeting held on May 19. The services are touted to enable easy transfers within the campus grounds, in a clean and green manner. It will also encourage more students to switch from using fuel-run bikes to cycles, saving time and improving health.
