It goes without saying that this year, August has been the driest month in years, for Mumbai and India as well. The city witnessed scanty to no rainfall in the past couple of days. And if stats are to be seen, the city received 1769 mm of rainfall in July when compared with August’s minimal 176.8 mm.

However, the water Gods have finally decided to bless us! Mumbai weather agency has predicted rainfall activity in the city, starting September 7, with heavy rainfall on September 8 - 9. The week-long rainy spell is expected to continue until September 13.

Changes in prevailing weather conditions have been attributed to the continental high-pressure system forming in the Bay of Bengal. The pressure will eventually move inland, activating the monsoon surge in Mumbai and thus, pouring rain over the city.
