Olympic-standard stadium proposed in Mumbai to bolster India's sporting future

The state-of-the-art stadium is to be constructed in Mulund West, near the Mahakavi Kalidas Natyamandir, by the year 2025.

BMC's ambitious plan to enhance Mumbai's infrastructure may pave the way for India to host the Olympics. According to BMC's proposal, a state-of-the-art Olympic stadium will be constructed in Mulund West, near the Mahakavi Kalidas Natyamandir. This stadium will serve as a venue for both national and international sports events.

The proposed project outlines the construction of a 24,682-square-meter stadium equipped with essential infrastructure for various sporting events. Additionally, the stadium will feature a grandstand, with a capacity of accommodating up to 566 spectators.

Currently, the stadium project is in the tendering phase, while the construction is scheduled to begin in January 2024. BMC eyes its completion by the year 2025.
