The move ensures a smoother business process.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is set to revolutionise urban development with the launch of its Online Development Permission System on February 1. This digital initiative will transform building plan approvals across key areas including Bandra Kurla Complex, Oshiwara District Centre, Wadala, and the CSMI Airport Notified Area.

This move promises faster approvals, greater transparency, and better ease of doing business. The system, already a success in Kalyan and Bhiwandi since 2023, will also support slum rehabilitation projects, ensuring smoother redevelopment for Project Affected Persons (PAPs).

Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee announced the initiative on X, highlighting its role in eliminating bureaucratic delays and making urban planning more efficient. If all goes well, MMRDA may expand the system further, reinforcing Mumbai’s journey toward becoming a truly tech-driven metropolis.
