Gearing up to fight against the impending third wave of coronavirus, the ongoing COVID-induced curfew has been reinstated for a week in Goa.The government of Goa has extended the statewide curfew till September 20, which was earlier expected to end on September 13. This curfew was first imposed on May 9 and has since been extended, repeatedly.

As per reports, all continuing restrains will be functional for an additional week in Goa,with no new relaxations. According to the fresh order issued by the government, bars, restaurants and cinema halls are allowed to operate at 50% capacity, till 11 PM. While indoor gyms can run at 50% capacity, spectators at indoor or outdoor sports complexes are still prohibited.
All casinos, auditoriums, river cruises, spa and massage parlours will continue to remain closed in the coastal state. Gatherings and private functions are allowed in Goa with up to 50% of the hall capacity. Schools will continue with their online classes as permission to reopen them has not been granted yet. However, offline examinations may be permitted with the government’s approval.
5-day quarantine mandatory for those arriving from Kerala

Keeping in mind the surge in COVID cases in Kerala, the Goa administration has made a 5-day quarantine compulsory for all incoming travellers from the southern state. While students and professionals will undergo an institutional quarantine managed by their respective institutes or offices, others are expected to be quarantined at home. All passengers are expected to produce a negative RT-PCR report to enter Goa from Kerala.
However, constitutional functionaries along with health care professionals and their spouses, patients with medical emergencies or individuals visiting Goa on the account of a death in the family exempted d from the above-mentioned protocols. All children aged less than two years are also exempted from these norms.

With 88 fresh cases and 35 recoveries marked on Wednesday, the tally of active case in Goa now stands at 700. Goa has recorded as many as 1,75,088 positive COVID patients since the pandemic outbreak last year. Of this, about 1,71,099 have successfully recovered. As per official records, the coronavirus toll scale by 70 deaths on September 15. The morbid count now looms at a total of total of 3,289 fatalities, as yet.
