All schools & colleges in Indore & 6 other MP districts to remain shut till April 15

On Wednesday, the Madhya Pradesh state government ordained to close all schools and colleges in Indore, Bhopal and 5 other districts till April 15. The directive has been issued in view of the uptick of COVID-19 cases across the state, where the listed districts have emerged as the worst-hit spots across MP. While Bhopal is currently nursing the highest number of active cases in the state, Indore is next in line and shoulders the maximum share of infections.

Maharashtra bus services suspended

Coronavirus cases have been rising at an alarming rate in Madhya Pradesh and the state is taking all precautions to weaken and the second wave of COVID-19 here. According to the new state orders issued on March 31, all schools, colleges and other educational institutes in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Betul, Chhindwara, Khargone, Ratlamcities will remain closed till April 15.

In the same circular, the state government added that bus services to and fro from Maharashtra will also remain suspended in wake of the exponential rise of infection there. The measures have been labelled as necessary by the state authorities to prevent the spread of infection, which has risen rapidly in the last few days.

As of now, Madhya Pradesh has a total of 2,95,511 cases, given the addition of 2,332 fresh cases on Wednesday. About 17,096 are getting active treatment while 2,74,429 have recovered. The toll stands at 3,986 since the outbreak, last year.
