While reports state that more than 70,000 cases were tested in the first week of July, the number has reduced to nearly 62,000 in the third week. Reportedly, the positivity rate has reduced too and this might carry a direct correlation with dropped sampling figures. As per reports, the daily count of tests lies in the range of 7,000 to 10,000 while the guidelines of the state administration call for 10,000 daily tests.

Reportedly, an official informed that the drop in testing numbers is driven by the lower sampling on Sundays and the rains are causing impediments too. Additionally, reports state that the testing team at the airport has been relieved of its duties. It was deployed for testing the individuals coming to Indore via the airway. Now, the officials are planning to station a testing team at the railway junction so that the sampling can be increased.
