Indore, which had recently been awarded the cleanest city award for the fourth time in a row, now has another big achievement to itself. The city has just been honoured with the award for plastic management in India. Indore received the former award on 31st December 2019.
This one, however, was conferred to the city on Sunday, January 12, 2020. Along with this, it was also announced that the Sindoda Panchayat was the first plastic-free area in Madhya Pradesh.

Following the award for being the cleanest city in India, Indore city has been given the plastic waste management award. This award points towards a more progressive and environment-friendly Indore city. The developmental rate of the city is phenomenal as it is and the aforementioned award is another laurel to Indore’s list.
As it turns out, Indore is not the only city that has been conferred with the award. Dibrugarh, along with two other districts (and Indore) have received this award. The award comes as part of a nationwide plastic waste management awareness drive which first began late in 2019.
This was achieved through several camps and eco-friendly drives. These drives are aimed to let people understand how to properly recycle plastic of all forms. Additionally, citizens were also informed of the environmental benefits of it all.
Essentially, this award is another milestone in Indore’s developmental journey. The city is coming up in many ways but we can safely and surely say, that the eco-friendly aspect of this development is certainly the best one.
