The Indian tennis scenario is about to receive a major boost as the All India Tennis Association (AITA) has given a nod for hosting Universal Tennis Ranking (UTR) professional tennis events which will be held in New Delhi and Indore later this year.
Reportedly, India will play host to two events, with prize pools worth $25,000 for women and men. The professional level tournaments will be held between November and December.

UTR is a global-level tennis platform which delivers opportunities to aspiring tennis players by giving them a global ranking based on their performance. The UTR events offer decent prize money for the podium finishers and even for the participants.

With the UTR tennis tour heading to India, the players from the country will also be able to gain recognition through the tournament.

The tour will kick off with a women’s tournament which will be held between November 7-13 at the R.K. Khanna Tennis Complex of Delhi.

It will then be followed by a men’s tournament which will be held at the Indore Tennis Club between December 18-25.
The UTR pro tennis tour has offered thousands of competitive, level-based matches to various countries. Apart from India, the tour has previously been held in countries including Greece, Japan, Argentina, Italy, Slovakia and Brazil giving opportunities to thousands of players.
