As the deadly ‘Black Fungus’ infection spreads its tentacles all across the country, central and state administrations are trying to augment the available resources for its treatment. As per the latest developments, Modern Laboratories in Indore has been provided with the license of producing Amphotericin-B, the anti-fungus drug used against the Mucormycosis infection. As per reports, the company has affirmed that it can manufacture nearly 10,000 vials every day.

Being one of the states with the largest share of black fungus cases in the country, Madhya Pradesh has been facing a dire shortage of anti-fungal drugs to treat the patients. In view of this, the authorities were deliberating upon the possible alternatives to increase the supply of lifesaving drugs. Now, it is expected that the crisis will be alleviated after the Indore-based company starts the production of Amphotericin-B.
Reports state that the company has already placed the order for raw materials required in the manufacturing process. While the supply will surely be augmented to hospitals in the state, it is anticipated that the large-scale production will also cater to the requirements across the country. It is noteworthy that Amphotericin B is quickly required for the Mucormycosis patients, in order to block the further spread of infection.
According to reports, the CM of Madhya Pradesh had declared that Black Fungus patients will be treated free of cost across all government facilities in the state, a week ago. Further, he had also instructed the authorities to make sure that widespread awareness drives are conducted across the state to help the citizens fight against the disease. As a part of this, they are being apprised about the ways to prevent and detect the disease.
