Buoyed by the gradually decreasing COVID threat in Madhya Pradesh, the state administration IS aspiring to achieve a 0% case positivity rate by May end. As of now, the virus positivity rate has been arrested within the 10% cap at all districts in MP, where Indore records the highest ratio at 8.1%. As of Monday, the overall positivity rate in MP was pegged at a controlled 3.9%.
Working towards the dream of COVID-free MP
In a meeting with the core group of COVID-19 control and precaution, the Chief Minister highlighted that MP’s pandemic management strategy is yielding required results, diminishing the spread impactfully. Public participation has played an important role to achieve this feat, the meeting concluded.
Now, the state aims to wipe out the coronavirus infection completely from its villages and gram panchayats. The public representatives or the members of the Covid Crisis Management Committee have been tasked to make rural regions COVID-free. Once this ambition is realised, the on-ground Disaster Management Committees will be rewarded on August 15, based on their performance.
State’s corona curfew to extend till May 31
The CM further stressed that the underway ‘corona curfew’ should be followed till May 31, strictly to ensure that zero per cent positivity rate is achieved, effectively. People are cautioned to follow COVID-19 appropriate behaviour to avoid the virus contraction. Wearing masks, washing or sanitising hands frequently and maintaining social distancing are the need of the hour.
The state will award relaxations in economic activities after May 31, with restrictions and necessary precautions The Chief Minister said that the campaign to eliminate the COVID threat will continue so that symptomatic patients are identified promptly and appropriate and timely treatment is provided to them. As per reports, micro-containment zones will be created in all areas reporting fresh cluster infections, to curtail the widescale spread.
