With Diwali preparations picking up pace across the nation, the Indore administration will soon start the procedure for license distribution to retail fireworks shops. This will allow for monitored sale of crackers.
The licensed shops will be permitted to sell crackers only from October 21 to October 25, at multiple venues in Indore including Lokhande Bridge, Hardia Compound Palda Naka, Dussehra Maidan Annapurna Road, Chhota Bangarda Forest Department land, Malwa Mill area, Sharda Girls School Bada Ganpati, open land in front of Sayaji Hotel, vacant land of Sports Complex of IDA near Bengali Square and Bhicholi Hapsi.
As per the officials, the license will be issued by the SDMs of concerned areas, only after proper security and safety arrangements are made by retail shop owners. The application procedure for the same started on October 11 and ended on October 17. Furthermore, the slots for shops will be drawn by a lottery system, and the distribution of the licenses will be done at the same time.
