A team of 13 officials from Bangladesh visited Indore to observe the city’s exceptional waste management plan. The visiting team witnessed a slew of waste management systems in Indore, including door-to-door garbage collection, the waste transfer station, the waste bioremediation site, and the overall sanitation model followed in India’s cleanest city.

The team from Bangladesh also visited the biogas plant at Indore’s Trenching Ground. It is noteworthy that the said plant is the biggest biogas CNG plant across Asia. At this plant, all the wet waste from the city is used to create biogas which is, in turn, used in public transport.
Furthermore, the visitors met with the IMC commissioner, who gave them a presentation on Indore’s GPS-based door-to-door garbage collection campaign. The seamless execution of Indore’s six-bin waste segregation was also discussed in the meetings between IMC officials and the team visiting from Bangladesh.
