In an attempt to attract more tourists and improve the existing digital service in the state, the Rajasthan Forest Department has planned to upgrade the current online jungle safari booking facilities.
As per reports, the new upgrades will offer all safari related services online, ranging from booking and scheduling, to planning, reserving and cancelling.
Seamless and paperless feature to reinforce Rajasthan tourism
Initially, only a waiting list, refund generation and basic features will be developed. At present, if a booking is cancelled, there is no provision to fill the space with another tourist for the safari. However, with the advanced waiting list feature, authorities will be able to adjust booking on the spot when a confirmed booking is cancelled.
Additionally, people will be able to check available slots on various dates, and a vehicle pick-up facility will also be made available. Tourists will be able to choose the guide, auto-generation of entry pass and do lots from from the online portal. Reportedly, once the booking is confirmed, tourists will be able to download the boarding pass from the website. For this, the booking party will be informed via an SMS notification.
Auto-generation of refunds to simplify procedure
With the addition of the auto generation of refunds feature, if a booking is cancelled on the authorities’ part, tourists will not have to apply for a refund and refund will be automatically credited. As per concerned officials, the general refund policy will have certain conditions depending upon which the transaction will be made.

If the booking is cancelled at the eleventh hour, zero amount will be returned to the tourists.

If cancellation of bookings is before 6 months, 75% of the amount will be refunded.

If the booking is cancelled three months prior in advance, 50% amount will be refunded as before.

25% amount will be refunded if the booking is cancelled up to 45 days in advance.
As of now, bookings can be made via the state government forest department website.
