Amid soaring COVID tallies in Rajasthan, 3,289 new cases were recorded in Jaipur on Tuesday, the highest figure in the list of daily records. With the inflating count of COVID patients, the requirement for amplified medical facilities has surged in the city and new establishments are being set up. As per the latest developments, the COVID care centre developed at Radha Soami Satsang Beas campus has started operations from today.
Only 50 beds with oxygen concentrators open for patients currently
As per reports, only 50 COVID patients will be admitted to the facility currently. Reportedly, the latest facility has a total of 768 beds but all cannot be opened for the patients due to the scarcity of oxygen supplies. Reports state that RT-PCR result, HRCT score of less than 13 and SPO2 count between the range 88-93, will be checked before providing admission to the COVID patients. Based on the doctor’s evaluation, people with negative RT PCR reports will also be taken into the facility. Currently, the 50 beds being made available are equipped with oxygen concentrators. Reportedly, the total count of beds is equally divided amongst men and women.
According to reports, the Jaipur Development Authority has toilets, power supply, fans, circuit television cameras and other essential amenities at the centre. Facilities for drinking water, tea, breakfast and meals will be available for both the patients and the caretakers.
State Capital enveloped amid COVID crisis
Given the increasing count of fresh detections, the active case count in the state capital spiked up to 31,667 and a total cumulative count of 1,00,651 COVID-affected people has been registered in Jaipur so far. While 21 individuals succumbed to the virus, 989 recoveries were recorded on Tuesday. Amongst a multitude of challenges ushered in by the pandemic, the city struggles with its overburdened medical infrastructure.
